Selvatura Sloth Habitat

In close collaboration with the Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica, Selvatura Park showcases the sloth — one of Costa Rica’s most iconic animals — in a carefully designed exhibit that replicates their natural environment and is home to sleepy, slow-moving, tree-dwelling individuals.
This is a habitat where time takes on a new meaning and invites quiet contemplation of these extraordinary mammals.

Enjoy a guided tour of the exhibit to learn about this emblematic species, its habits, and why it doesn’t go anywhere very quickly. Observe these sloths from a stress-free distance as they roam freely among the trees and foliage of the habitat in safety.

Not only will you fall in love with our sloths, but this habitat also represents Selvatura Park’s commitment to education and environmental conservation.

These beautiful mammals arrived at our habitat after being rescued from poaching, habitat destruction, illness, and accidents — situations that now prevent them from returning to the wild. For this reason, the Selvatura Sloth Habitat is especially dear to our hearts and forms part of our ongoing mission to protect and preserve this recently named national symbol.
